Congratulations Rio! for winning the 2016 Olympics |
BTOA VP Jose Gherardi  explains… “As a Carioca myself , and because of the history of my company which was founded in Rio in 1954 , I am really very happy that the city of Rio de Janeiro finally got something important! It is huge in every sense of the word… it is like Rio is getting a second chance and this time the people of Rio (the Cariocas) will work intensely to have a perfect Olympic Games for the world” .

Our Annual Members Meeting was a huge success! |
Our annual members meeting in Miami was a huge success. We are proud to announce that Embratur unvailed it's plans for 2010 to continue to include the BTOA in its larger workshops in major cities and smaller road shows in smaller cities. Embratur also announced that they will continue the Brazil Now promotion for 2010. We will notify all the members of the details shortly. We also have 2 states competing for our destination of the year for 2010. Stay tuned for further news!

"BTOA Cares" gives grant to Estrela Brasil |
The BTOA is proud to announce that we have launched our new BTOA Cares Program to support NGO’s in Brazil that promote social change and sustainable tourism. We have chosen the non-profit program Estrela Brasil to be the first recipient of our new BTOA Scholarship called the “BTOA Cares Community Development Tourism Grant”.
Estrela Brasil has been developing community tours in partnership with local grass-roots initiatives, improving livelihoods of Afro-Brazilian youth & women and ensuring balanced cultural exchange between tourists & locals. Board member Mike Eiseman says... "The BTOA is keeping up with a changing world and efforts for support sustainable tourism. We are dedicated to increasing life chances, and improving the quality of life, for people in marginalized communities in Brazil." click here for details
